George Pirie,
CEOMr. Pirie has 29 years experience in the mining industry. In 1980 he was with Pamour Porcupine Mines, a division of Noranda, and later joined Dome Mines Limited in 1985. He was transferred to Vancouver Corporate Offices of Placer Dome Inc. in 1991. Mr. Pirie has held progressive positions in a number of Placer's divisions over a 20 year span, including Chief Financial Officer, Placer Dome Canada; President and Chief Executive Officer, Placer Dome Canada; and Executive Vice President, Placer Dome Inc. Mr. Pirie has served on a number of boards including the Mining Association of Canada. Mr. Pirie served as President and CEO of Breakwater Resources from July 2005 to November 2009.
Richard Silas
Corporate SecretaryMr. Silas has an administrative background with junior resources companies. He has served as a director for several public and private companies in Canada and USA. Over the last seven years Mr. Silas has been president of Universal Solutions, a management company providing management and administration services for TSX Venture Exchange companies. Mr. Silas has also completed the Securities Program (Going Public, Director/Officers and Continuous Disclosure) from Simon Fraser University in 1997.
Michael Waldkirch
CFOMr. Michael N. Waldkirch, B.A., C.G.A., is Chief Financial Officer of Northern Star Mining Corporation. Mr. Waldkirch holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of British Columbia and has been a Certified General Accountant since 1998. Since 1999 he has held the position of Senior Partner with the Public Accounting firm Michael Waldkirch and Company, Certified General Accountants in Vancouver, BC. Mr. Waldkirch has extensive experience in providing a wide variety of financial and business consultancy services to public and private companies.
Eugene Gauthier, P.Eng
VP of OperationsMr Eugene Gauthier brings over 25 years of experience to Northern Star as a geologist in production and mining for several Canadian mines, in particular Gwillim, Louvicourt, Western Quebec and Malartic southern. The current responsibilities for Mr Gauthier include exploration on the surface and underground, as well as the planning of the bulksampling campaign.
Paul Cregheur
OperationsPaul D. Cregheur brings his vast experience in the mining industry to NSM aiding in the planning and supervision of the company's underground exploration program on the Midway-Malartic project. Mr. Cregheur is well known and respected in the mining industry, having been associated with numerous mining projects. He was, until recently, president of Wesdome Gold Mines Ltd.
Gilles Gauthier
Mine SuperintendentDaniel Ouellet, P.Eng
Health/safety and Environment coordinatorMr. Ouellet has over 12 years of experience for different mining companies . He is responsible for the Company's policies, specializing in the environment aspect, and the respect of and adherence to the diverse health and safety regulations applying to the Company's activities.
Laurent Lafrance
Mill SuperintendantOver the last 30 years Mr Lafrance held different positions in many gold milling sites..
